​Reading
*Read 15-20mins- We expect that your child reads for at least 15- 20 minutes each night. Please use the Reading Calendar sent home each month to record the minutes your child has read. For best use of this time, help your child choose a book at their reading level. If you are having trouble finding the right book--ask me!
* Words of the week- the words are located on every weekly communication sheet. Please practice reading these words every day as they will be tested at the end of each week.
Words of the Week

*Ten words will be sent home on your child's communication sheet each week. Please help your child practice READING (not spelling) these words. Each first grader will be expected to master these words by the end of first grade.
Math
IXL can be used at home to support the themes that we are working on in the classroom. Refer to our communication sheet for our weekly math focus.
